The Windows client protects and sends through the same API as the website: the original is uploaded encrypted and unique copies are generated on our servers. You do not keep the fingerprinted copy on your PC.
Downloading the Windows installer records an encrypted IP, country, and version for up to 6 months to count installs — not to trace documents.
